We are celebrating the recent designation of the Santa Cruz Valley National Heritage Area, with a retrospective of its role--and that of many others--in bringing back heritage grains to the multi-cultural communities of southern Arizona & northern Sonora. We will also be learning from leaders in other regions who have pioneered comparable innovations & grain revivals. Where do we go from here?
This morning’s event will feature Jeff Zimmerman (Hayden Flour Mills), Don Guerra (Barrio Breads) & Terry & Ramona Button & Joy Hought, detail “the rise of White Sonora Wheat”, with commentaries by Liz Carlisle, Bob Quinn, Vanessa Bechtol & others in roundtable discussions.
